Our meetings this summer cover a broad spectrum of fun and informative topics: fitness for moms, connecting with our husbands, going green, and teaching our kids about money. ♥ GR Mothers & More Announces New Meeting Site (posted 1/22/2008)
Beginning in February 2008, local chapter meetings will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church in the Ministry Center's Community Room. This is located at: 1449 Wilcox Park Drive, Grand Rapids, MI 49506. Click here for a map from Google. Use the parking lot entrance off of Carlton.

Want to learn more about Mothers & More and all that the Grand Rapids chapter has to offer local moms? Then join us for our 2008 Open House on Thursday January 17, 2008 at 7pm. There will be appetizers, cake, refreshments, door prizes, gifts and more! One lucky mom who joins our chapter during the Open House will receive free membership dues!!

Our upcoming Moms' Nights Out include game night (board and card games) and wine school. We also have two couples nights coming up: A night at the Symphony Pops and a night at Dr. Grins. And for the whole family, we're heading to a Whitecaps game.

From snow-throwers and furniture, to toys and clothes, our members cleaned out their basements and made our chapter's 2007 garage sale fundraiser a huge success! Thanks to all the patrons who purchased items and to all our members who made the event possible!

We'll figure out our finances, finally learn some of those things we really should know anyway and find the best ways to give back to our community. Check out our meetings page for more info!
Also coming in May and June are some wonderful Moms-only activities: we'll celebrate Mother's Day with a night of pampering, we're going line-dancing (not to worry: we're going to take a lesson first), we'll take in a movie, and we're going to Craig's Cruisers WITHOUT OUR KIDS!
Other activities include: an adults-only beer tasting, a chapter-wide play date, and a trip to Blandford Nature Park!

Due to poor road conditions and school cancellations, the "Chat in the Hat" meeting scheduled for Monday Feb. 5 has been cancelled. The next chapter meeting is Thursday Feb 15.

An anniversary party in January, a fun-filled game of "chat in the hat" and an experienced marriage educator teaching us the principles of a successful marriage in February. Also during these months our chapter will be attending Cirque du Soleil, having a wine-tasting, going sledding, and burning off some energy at Playworld! ♥ GR Mothers & More fulfills Christmas wish list through Operation Good Cheer (posted 12/23/2006)
During the 2006 holiday season, our chapter "adopted" a 4-year-old foster child named Arianna through Operation Good Cheer. Arianna provided us with a list of items she would like to have for Christmas. Through some great teamwork, our chapter was able to provide Arianna with everything on her wish list and even a few extra items for good measure. Way to go Mothers & More and Merry Christmas Arianna!

♥ GR Mothers & More Welcomes New Board Members (posted 10/8/2006)
The first of October marked the inauguration of our chapter's newest leader and co-leader. We also welcome new faces to our Board in the positions of Secretary, Treasurer, Programming, and Fundraising. Other Board positions come up for nomination in the Spring of 2007. As a self-governed group, our members volunteer to serve on our Leadership Board and are elected by chapter vote. This ensures that our chapter evolves as the needs and desires of our members change. We are excited to welcome the new leadership and send our thanks for a job well done to the outgoing leadership!

The theme of this year's campaign is "Mothers At Work"
Each week in May will highlight a different topic:

May 1-8: All the work mothers do - whether paid or unpaid - has social and economic value

May 9-16: Mothers have the right to fulfill their caregiving responsibilities without incurring social and economic penalties

May 17-23: All women deserve recognition and support for their right to choose if and how to combine parenting and paid employment

May 24-31: Wrap-up Discussions, including the Mothers' Movement and creating a month devoted to mothers
