Member Testimonials

Here is a sample of what some of our members have to say about our chapter:

"After having my first child and going from full time paid employment to full time mom, I was interested in finding a social support system in Grand Rapids.  Mothers and More has provided me the opportunity to connect with other women who are at similar crossroads in their lives.  In addition, I have also been able to talk with "seasoned" moms who share their valuable knowledge and experiences.  This group has made me think about how important being a Mom is and reminds me that the time spent raising children should really be cherished because it goes by way too quickly"

    Diane, member since 02/2006

"My family and I moved to the Grand Rapids area from Louisiana when our son was only 4 months old. With no paid employment (I decided to be a stay-at-home-mom once we moved) and no friends or family close, I was a bit lost. Mothers & More gave me the opportunity to meet some fabulous women who, for one reason or another, were feeling just a bit lost in the sea of motherhood themselves. It was great to know that I wasn't alone! Through Mothers & More, I have found some great friends not only for myself but for my son and my husband as well. The group's guest speakers and talking points at meetings really go a long way to scratch the intellectual itch left over from not working outside of the home. The terrific support from these women has also helped fill that void left by raising kids without extended family close by.  This is a fantastic organization!"

    Holly, member since 01/2006

“Mothers & More” is an organization that cares about and campaigns for issues which affect mothers everywhere.  Whether you are a stay at home mom, or whether you are juggling the demands of your home and career, you are sure to feel welcome here.  I have been a member for over 4 years now and have developed some great friendships within this group.  This is by far the best mothers support group out there!”

    Christine, member since 1/2002

“For me, it’s the “and more” part of Mothers & more that appealed to be because it supports the principles that I believe in.  There is so much more to being a mother – the sacrifices women have to make at times to be a mother in our contemporary society.  Mothers & More celebrates all that in our communities.”

    Deb, member since 5/2005

“I joined Mothers & More because my family and I had moved to Grand Rapids and didn’t know anyone.  I wanted a support network and was able to find one through playgroups and volunteering.  I have learned so much from the members about parenting styles, beliefs and values.”

    Becca, member since 11/2000
